How the notes are made
The rules this site writes by, and the way facts are kept honest.
Chosen by hand
Places, stays and routes are picked by the editors. No placement on this site can be paid for; partner programmes pay a commission on bookings, and never for a mention.
What can be checked
Facts that change, such as visas, seasons and timetables, carry a source and the date they were checked. Anything that cannot be checked against a source does not go on the page as though it could.
No ranking claims
The copy avoids superlatives and ranking claims entirely. A description says what a place is, who it suits and what to expect, and leaves the ordering to the reader.
Prices stay with their plan
Prices appear only attached to the plan they belong to, never as a general claim about a place or a season.
No invented reviews
No review on this site is invented. Where the editors make a call on a place, the note says what the call is based on: location, rooms, and recent feedback from guests.
Corrections
When a page is wrong it is fixed, and the fix is dated on the page it touches. The address for corrections arrives with the site's own domain, before launch.
